David Mook’s first book of poems, EACH LEAF, includes poems written by his daughter Sarah, as well as an essay, “Fishing,” recognized as a Notable Essay in The Best American Essays, 2000. Awards include Second Prize in The 2005 Allen Ginsberg Poetry Awards. Mook’s poems and essays have appeared in numerous publications including Bereavement Magazine, Birchsong – Poetry Centered in Vermont, Dogwood, Ellipsis, Friends Journal, Passager, Paterson Literary Review, and several anthologies. Mook earned an MFA in Writing from Vermont College and teaches at Castleton University. He sponsors the annual Sarah Mook Poetry Contest for students in grades K-12.
